- Scan it off this screen with a phone. The check on this page uses one decoder; a camera at an angle, on a banner, in gym lighting, is the real test.
- Quiet zone. The clear margin between the chain and the code is part of the code. Don't crop it, and don't put anything in it.
- Contrast. Dark code on a light background, always. Never light-on-dark, never over a photo.
- Short links scan easier. Less content means a coarser grid, which reads faster and from further away.
- Vinyl and fabric stretch. For a banner or a bumper, print bigger than the calculator says and test the actual printed piece.
